Sidle House: Alex Bruehl – Mended

Date & Time: on show until October 31, 2026
Location: Sidle House, 20 Bartol Island Rd, Freeport ME 04032

Alex Bruehl returns to Sidle House with a solo show selected from his “Vessels” series examining wounds, healing, scarring, and floriography. The pieces depicting detailed images of flowers and vessels were cut and repaired by the artist with surgical sutures – using implements his father used when he was practicing medicine. Bruehl is a multi-disciplinary artist with backgrounds in music, film, acting and writing, presently exploring visual storytelling using the fine details captured in his photography. He recently returned to Maine after years away in Chicago and New York.
