Meetinghouse Arts is based in the First Parish Church at 40 Main Street in Freeport, Maine. We offer a professional gallery space for local Maine artists and an intimate theater and stage venue at a reasonable cost.

The Meetinghouse Arts Gallery provides a secure and professional space for Artists to show and sell artwork as well as free parking and a main street entrance. The gallery hours are March-April: Friday-Saturday, 10:00am-5:00pm and Sundays, 12:00-4:00pm. May-December: Wednesday-Saturday, 10:00am-5:00pm and Sundays, 12:00-4:00pm.

The Meetinghouse Arts Stage offers 182 seats within Freeport's historic First Parish Church, located at 40 Main Street in Downtown Freeport. Stage rentals include a private green room, accessible restrooms, complimentary parking, and a Main Street entrance for convenient access.

As an active performance venue, the Stage also includes a ticketing booth, internet access, and a professional lighting/sound system*. The beautiful acoustics and serene atmosphere of our Stage make it the ideal venue for concerts, plays, lectures, workshops, and community gatherings.

*NOTE: Renter is responsible for use of lighting/sound system and event-specific technical needs.

Q: Do I have to pay to park?
A: Parking at Meetinghouse Arts is FREE & open to the public. There is plenty of parking behind the building and accessible street parking on Main Street. For directions, click here.

Q: I'd like to hold a private concert at Meetinghouse Arts. Do I need to rent the whole building?
 A: As a combined gallery and stage venue, we understand that not every rental requires the use of all our spaces. For that reason, use of the stage, gallery, and green room is granted on a case-by-case basis. Please let us know which spaces and available offerings you wish to use for your event.

Q: Can I sell tickets for my event?
A: Ticketed events are permitted for Meetinghouse Arts rentals, but sales will be performed solely by the Renter. We're happy to share your event on our web platform, but general publicity and sales are the Renter's responsibility.
