  • Monthly opportunities for youth to explore their creativity in a variety of art forms with guidance from local artists and teachers
  • Workshops include puppet making, storytelling, abstract art, lantern making and more
  • Ages vary per workshop, but are generally catered to students from Grades Pre K-8

• Puppets and Stories
January 11, 9:00-11:30am

Grades Pre K-5: Join Robin Brooks, an experienced art teacher and huge fan of puppets to make your own hand puppet characters. We will use glue, paper, our imaginations, and a variety of colorful and fun materials to create animal and people puppets. And if time allows, we will learn to make our puppets talk! • Daily Sketching and Drawing
February 8, 9:00-11:00am

Grades 1-8: Guiding students through techniques and exercises to help them start an ongoing practice of creating through drawing. Participants can bring an art journal or sketchbook of any size and favorite drawing materials–or use our provided materials to begin your drawing journey! Click here to register.

No participant limit and FREE for all ages & abilities: See our local Youth Art Show in the gallery and meet The Pinkies sculptures artist, Pamela Moulton (aka Posey) to learn about how The Pinkies were created. Then, help create a magical bait bag that will become part of The Pinkies sculptures! No registration required.

Grades 5-8: Fun, hands-on workshop offering middle school students a great introduction to the fundamentals of abstract act. Through demonstrations, painting exercises, and personalized feedback, participants will learn to paint loosely and expressively. Click here to register today.

• Fish Sculptures Using Reclaimed Denim
May 10, 9:30-11:30am

Grades Pre K-8: Create a 3-D soft sculptural FISH from recycled jeans! These soft sculptures can also be designed as fish handbags. Experiment and play with this versatile material consisting of buttons, seams, zippers, pockets and denim fabric in a wide range of blue colors! Click here to register today.

Grades 1-8: Come create an indoor lantern designed to create a magical glow in any special space of the home. The project uses a variety of non-toxic materials, including markers, oil pastels, watercolors, ribbons, beads and feathers, with the end result being a unique, utilitarian work of glowing art. Arts access fund scholarships

Meetinghouse Arts believes that everyone, regardless of income, ability, or background, should have access to outstanding arts programming, art supplies and arts education opportunities.


In an effort to remove cost as a barrier to participation, the Arts Access Fund is dedicated to supporting affordable costs and keeping the full range of programming offered by Meetinghouse Arts and its partners, including art and artist classes, workshops and camps, community theater productions, live music, and film programming available to all, regardless of individual ability to pay.
