This show emphasizes wall hung work and will be hung “floor to ceiling” in the style of salon shows of the past and features paintings, drawings, hand pulled prints, assemblage art, collage, encaustics, photography, and fine art sculpture.

Discussion topics and dates:

On Thursday evenings during the 4 week show we will offer social gatherings for artists and art enthusiasts to come together as the original salons did when creative shared experiences were one of the main attractions.

May 9 – The benefits of creating; The mental & physical health benefits of beginning and sustaining some kind of creative outlet. Discussions will include keeping up with or starting a creative practice and what that can look like. Discussion will be led by Artist Janice Moore

May 23 – Demystifying & De-snob-ifying Art- How to make art less intimidating & more inclusive for everyone. Discussions will include how to get started discovering, following & collecting artists no matter what your budget is. Discussions will be led by Artist Janice Moore and Maddy Vertenten, owner of Sidle House Gallery in Freeport.

The discussions are open and free to the public at Meetinghouse Arts, 40 Main Street, Freeport from 5:00-7:00 pm.
